In Maun still. We chartered a Cessna 172 today and flew out to the Okavango Delta.

We then got our tickets to enter the two parks we hope to pass through on our way to Kasane. The first one is Moremi and we will camp there tomorrow night. Then we move on to Chobe and camp at Savuti on Wednesday night. We've been advised that the road between the two may well be impassable as reports state it is extremely muddy and waterlogged. Heard a story of one vehicle turning back when water got to bonnet height. We'll take it as it comes and assess the situation as we go along. It's about 450 kms this way to Kasane. If we cannot get through, we must return to Maun and then drive 750 kms on a very badly potholed tarred road to Nata and on to Kasani. We're not in a hurry anyway.
There is absolutely nothing in the parks, except campsites with ablutions. We must take everything we need, water, food, bedding, tents etc. We have it all. Also no fuel or breakdown assistance for 450 kms, not that you can telephone anyway. There is no signal. This is where a satellite phone would be handy I guess. We are now officially entering the bush!
We won't be able to get to the internet until Friday or Saturday and hopefully we can find a place in Kasane where we can update blog and photos.
